2020 Finishes

I am amazed by how my quilting productivity has tanked since my kids stopped napping! Also, I hate v-learning!

Ice Cream Soda Mini

I impulsively started this project in 2017 without reading the pattern for the fabric requirements. I quickly realized I didn’t have the fabric or skills to expand what I started. In the end, I turned it into a mini quilt so that I could reuse the pieces for a solids version of the pattern. Then I used this mini as my test quilt to start practicing hand quilting. I am surprised by how much I enjoyed. Given my enjoyment of hand piecing, I’m surprised by how much I was surprised.

Monkey Baby Quilt x2

I was very lucky that two of my friends were kind enough to both have boys so I could make both their quilts at the same time. Originally, I’d planned to use the words as a border, but it didn’t look right. Thus, I ended up making a two-sided quilt. If I’d know the wording section was going to bed the backing, I’d NEVER have used white, but since it’s what I had, it’s what it became. Also, enjoy the cute baby!

Colorblock Quilt

I bought a new machine for quilting, and I put this quilt together so I could practice my quilting. I have VERY pleased with the results. Also, colors are beautiful. This quilt was done from a kit, so I didn’t pick any of the colors.

Sugar Skulls Quilt

I’ve had this quilt sitting in my pile to quilt since 2018. Recently, I’ve been trying to work my way through my WIP pile and this seemed like a safe place to start.

#100DAYS100BLOCKS2018

The quilting was finished last year, but I delayed in binding it. I DID NOT DO THIS QUILTING. Seriously. This level of amaze-balls is all Teresa of @quiltingismybliss.

Fancy Forest Quilt

I’ve been putting off quilting this one for years now. I think my part of my delay is that I HATE basting quilt. Now that it’s done, I’m pretty crazy in love with it. That Elizabeth Hartman has some serious pattern designing skills

Boy Scout T-Shirt Quilt

A friend hired me to make a T-shirt quilt out of his adventures in scouting. It’s hard to tell from the picture but the binding is red. I’m extra happy with how the red frames the quilt.

Can you see my dog? She was really curious about what my husband was doing.

Preschool Class Quilt

My son’s preschool class needed an action item for an auction that never happened (Thanks COVID!). I helped the class make a hand print quilt.
